Managing From a Distance

Thomas J. Johnson, Pharm.D., MBA, BCPS, BCCCP, FASHP, FCCM

Tom Johnson is currently the Assistant Vice President of Hospital Pharmacy at Avera Health based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from North Dakota State University, completed a pharmacy residency at St. Alexius Medical Center, and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Sioux Falls. He is Board Certified in Critical Care and Pharmacotherapy and is a Fellow of the American Society of Health-system Pharmacists and a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine

 In this session we will discuss tactics to improve communication within a large team. List approaches to managing across large geographical distances. Determine best practices for leading individuals with different personalities and approaches.
